Open every day from lunch through to late dinner, Bagatelle Monte-Carlo is a French Mediterranean restaurant and cocktail bar.
Designed by some now infamous private members club in Mayfair, London, Bagatelle Monte-Carlo is a sort of classical circus with secluded corners for schmoozing or snoozing or minding your own business, meets boisterous & playful dining. With the weekend brunch that turns into party from 3.30pm, it is the perfect place to lose yourself for a few hours! Its Belle Epoque atmosphere mixed with a little colonial sophistication gives a little something different from what you can find in Monaco.
I have recently tried the brunch and with the decadent breakfast my friend and I were served, we easily whiled away a good few hours at here.
What’s on the menu?
Directed by Chef Rocco Séminara (who used to cook in the same kitchen than Franck Cerutti from Alain Ducasse’s Le Grill restaurant at Hôtel de Paris), signature meals like truffle roasted chicken or tuna tartare can be found on the menu. I also noticed mouth-watering propositions such as eggplant parmesan rools or ceviches with fruits for the mains. On the sweet side, I am sure many of you could not resist the giant Mikado, chocolate sticks to dip into multiple toppings you wish were calorie-less. The good thing is that you can easily get rid of these calories while dancing on the tables. At night until 2am or the weekend at the brunch from 3.30pm, only the ones in the known can tell how hard the party was behind the closed curtains!
For the brunch, the table comes filled with French pastries. To celebrate this good news, I decided to start with a Pisco Sour prepared by the mixologists behind the cocktail bar.
I ordered the Hamachi Ceviche which came with hibiscus flowers, ginger infused and combava, that added a delicious contrast to the subtle tastes of the thinned cut fish. As a Parisian girl, a brunch has to go with eggs benedict. These ones matched my demanding tastes perfectly! The brunch ended with some delicious mini pastries to accompany our coffees.
What about the price?
Considering the location of the restaurant (you are a few steps away from the Place du Casino), the prices of Bagatelle Monte-Carlo are very reasonable. The quality of the food is also high, thus fully justifying the price.
I had a lovely brunch at Bagatelle Monte-Carlo and I am sure you will be pleased to find such a fabulous spot for lunches, dinners as well as just drinks. See you there?
