Restaurant spotting: Les Sens, Nice

I have found at Les Sens everything I like when going to a restaurant in the evening.

First, the cozy atmosphere. True fact, as a Parisian, I always appreciate this little something different that instantly make you feel at home. Les Sens is 100% this kind of place; chic but comfortable. The owner created a cool and trendy decoration with dim lights, a long wooden bar and a vintage mirror. On top of that, the staff is smiley, helpful and professional.

As for the cuisine, Cyrille Billa will make you discover a delicious cuisine.

I really liked the 37,5 € “menu du moment” (starter, main and desert) offering a great value. At Les Sens, everything is home-made, even the bread which is fantastic (I had to hold on to not eat it all before the main course was served!). The dishes are elaborated, creative and fresh, made with seasonal products from the Mediterranean region. As for the deserts, they are delish so do not miss them!

Fish and meat lovers will be pleased with a great selection. The menu changes along the seasons so you will always find something new in your plate.

Usually, I am not a fan of fennel but I loved the cream of fennel soup appetizer that I was served before the starter, it was a great surprise.

The bloc of foie gras filled with duck was nice but as a “foie gras purist”, I would always prefer a simple foie gras bloc without any stuffing. It was still nice to try this new foie gras style.

The yuzu codfish was something new to me and I thought it was a great combination. The yuzu softed the fish that is originally more salted than other fishes.

The Saint Honoré is my favorite desert so it was quite challenging to make me fall in love with “Comme un Saint Honoré” but surprinsingly I did! The whipped cream was light and the violet jelly and biscuit created something different. Please give me more!

I highly recommend this restaurant located not far from Les Galeries Lafayettes so ideal for a shopping break. I actually went there after a late shopping evening and it was the perfect ending of the day.

I went there in the middle of the week and it was quite full so better book before going.

Enjoy and let me know if you like(d) it too!
